Stephenie Charlotte Chow was raised in
Freiburg im Breisgau in Germany. She spent numerous years
living and working in the United States, Europe, and Asia,
and is currently residing in San Francisco. She received
her Advanced Bachelor's degree in History as well as Diplomacy
& World Affairs from Occidental |
College in Los Angeles. During this time, she also took a one
year sabbatical to study Mandarin at Taiwan University's Chinese
program. Following Occidental, Ms. Chow worked as a civil servant
for the Organization for Economic Co-operation & Development
(OECD). After the OECD, she then received her MBA from Hartford
University's Paris program. Following her studies, Ms. Chow
moved to Hong Kong to work for Credit Suisse Private Banking
heading up the Corporate Communications Department for North
Asia.
Through several years of work at Credit Suisse and an involvement
of sponsorships in the Arts, charitable functions, and collaboration
with Christie's in Hong Kong - a personal and deep interest
in Asian ceramics and precious stones evolved. Ms. Chow determined
that although antique Chinese decorative pieces made out of
semi-precious stone existed, there was nothing that could
be currently used for tableware today. Working closely with
a jewelery company in Hong Kong, Ms. Chow created a collection
of tableware and decorative accessories that celebrates the
beauty, lines and forms inspired by historical pieces. Through
nearly a year of research & development, a first collection
has been created combining Chinese-inspired form, functionality,
with the beauty and timeless grace of semi-precious stones.
