Stephenie Charlotte Chow Designs was founded
in 2001 to fulfill an ambition of creating a collection
of elegant, rare and unique tableware and home accessories.
The foundation is based on traditional Chinese decorative
art pieces made with the world's most beautiful semi-precious
stones. |
Her vision is manifested through the craftsmanship of highly
skilled Chinese artisans based in Southern China.
Each piece has been personally designed by Stephenie Charlotte
Chow and is exquisitely hand-carved. The semi-precious stones
are purchased in their raw form from their country of origin,
transported to Southern China, Then carved into smaller pieces
by hand. Each smaller piece is then specially selected to
create part of the collection, making no two stones identical
and each piece of tableware accessory a work of art.
We can see a balanced design of Asian and European traditional
lines. Ms Chow takes the traditional form and has created
a new design emphasizing shape and a new medium that was only
used for decorative purposes before, hoping that this collection
will be used as tableware. She hopes to provide beautiful
art that is also affordable enough to use for entertaining
and that can also be passed down from generation to generation.
This trend of combining cultural design can be seen in all
things decorative, in the applied arts, and in our music.
It is a very exciting time to present Stephenie Charlotte
Chow's designs reflecting the glory and history of Chinese
tradition in a way that is modern, elegant, rare, highly crafted
and refreshingly delightful.
